Looking to hear some stories from people about how and why they got into Mitsubishis in general, or how and why they got into their current Mitsubishi? For me, my old 86 Mitsubishi Mirage was my first Mitsu. It got great gas mileage and I put over 60k miles on it and all I did was change brakes and tires on it. Super cheap to drive in college. I then bought a 88 Mitsubishi Cordia and it treated me the same way. I was kind of hooked at that point. After college I bought my first Stealth, then traded up for my first TT Stealth. Bought and Eclipse for a daily. Talked Stacy into buying a 3/S. Even had a Cordia turbo for project car for a while: And I could go on and on with the addiction from there. Lets hear some more stories!!

I was instantly addicted to the BOV in my 95' Talon when I first drove it (only mod was a greddy type-s), that and for the price I had to buy it. The thing that sealed the deal was it was at a very sketchy dealership in a bad part of town and they were having cars stolen and trashed on joy rides for the previous month. So my options were to drive it home then, or hope it would still be there when I came back. I decided driving it home would be the best option! .....
With that being said I still knew nothing about cars or mitsus for that matter..
That ALL started one day going down 494. The balance shaft belt broke and took the timing belt out with it. Why I didn't sell it is why i'm still into mitsu's. They're cheap, easy to work on, have parts available, have tons of forums, reliable (for the most part) and damn quick!

After I got my driver’s license and started driving for a bit, The Fast & The Furious hit the big screen and that sparked my interest in the car scene. The movie didn’t influence me in a bad way. I didn’t go and buy some cheap rusty Honda with a fart can. I did my research and started reading magazines focused on the sport compact scene. I was going to buy a WRX, but it was hard to find a used one in my price range in the early 2000’s. Looking through the paper ads and online automobile trade web sites, most Mitsubishi cars were well priced. Parts web sites were also plentiful and reasonably priced. I ended up buying a 2001 Mitsubishi Eclipse GT in 2003. It wasn’t the fastest or well liked Eclipse model, but it’s been a good car for me over the years. Now I have a 92 3000 GT VR4 and I am very happy with that. Mitsubishi sure knew what they were doing in the 90’s.

First car was a N/T talon. Being 18 i sold it to my brother and got my turbo talon. Im so addicted to working on it. Not even driving the car, but just working and getting parts for it. Im sure i will own more Mitsubishi vehicles in the future. Another thing that i think is sweet is all the forums so many people and great information!

I distinctly remember the exact day I knew I wanted to own a Mitsubishi. I was at a friends house and his uncle came over. He was driving a baltic blue 1988 widebody Mitsubishi Starion. He promptly did a drawn out donut right in the middle of the road. I was instantly hooked, I had to own one. Fast forward a year or two and that same childhood friend's father bought a damaged Starion so that he and his son could repair it as a father / son project so it could be his first vehicle. I helped them when I was around and even though I didn't know much about cars I really enjoyed it. Move ahead another few years and I had the chance to purchase a 1987 narrow body Starion and I jumped at the chance. The transmission was blown, the interior was gutted, and it was in a questionable mechanical state but I didn't care. I learned everything I know now about cars from tearing that thing apart piece by piece and using the service manual to rebuild it. I've owned that car for 7 years, and I'll never sell it.
Forever hooked!

I was always a fan of 2g DSM's when I was younger and found a good deal on one that didn't run right for cheap.
I like good deals so I bought it not knowing anything about turbos or DSM's. It was the first car I took apart by myself and learned a ton from it. Looking back at part boxes I had some parts that I put in baggies with question marks on the baggie as I had no idea what the part was when I took it apart. Now I just laugh as I knew what everything was and some of the bolt bags that didn't have writing on them I knew what they were from taking so many apart.
Would still have a mitsu drag car I think if I didn't get into bikes so much.

I got hooked from being in the passenger seat of my cousin's 92 Talon Tsi AWD. He loved Mitsubishi's from the game Gran Turismo because of the 3000GT VR4. Back to the Talon, I think I was 14-15 when he asked me to see if I wanted to go for a drive in his car. He launched it and I was instantly hooked. This was before the FAF so it was fun to see his crowd of friends surround the Talon. But that awd launch sucked me into the seat and I can still remember that! After that, it was constantly reading and researching online about these cars. I remember reading Sport Compact Car about Mitsus and Import Tuner (i think) did a project on the 1gb. I'll see if I can scan it. It was pretty entertaining to read because they stated it was the most hp gain for minimal mods. If I could get a clean 1gb, I would instantly but after owning a 2gb and needing to sell my 2gb, I love the 2gb a little bit more

I know I was.
