For Sale
1997 3000 GT VR4
I have my eyes on a new Ford Mustang GT350 and want to find my ’97 VR4 a new home with an owner that will appreciate it.
I am the second owner. Purchased it in 1999. Adult owned.
It’s been very well taken care of.
I have all the maintenance records which can go with the car.
Black with tan leather interior. No sun roof.
Twin turbo, All Wheel Drive and All Wheel Steering, Six-speed
Car runs great. It is my summer car so I do drive it on nice days.
145,000 Miles. Car had about 28,000 on it when I got it.
Things worth knowing about this car:
I am the only driver of my VR4. I've always allowed it to warm up before driving it to get oil in the turbos. And I always have let it cool down before turning it off. Sort of a hassle but I know what can happen if you don’t do those things. Drives like it did when I first got it.
The only not so good things about this car:
1) Some chips and small dings in the paint. Rank the body at about a 7 or 8. Beautiful car though so I might be understating this.
2) The driver’s seat has a hole from rubbing against that high point. It was that way when I got it and it’s a bit worse.
I’m asking $12,000 for it. Give me an offer though as I want to order my new, Red GT350 Mustang.
I also have a set of 94 GT rims you can have from my prior 3000GT.

145,000 Miles. Car had about 28,000 on it when I got it.
Things worth knowing about this car:
1) All regular maintenance completed on the car
2) 120,000 mile service done including a new water pump and plugs
3) Getrag transmission replaced under warranty at about 30,000 miles. Fluid replaced a number of times.
4) Fuel pump replaced a few years ago
5) Rebuilt ECM a few years ago. (Try and find one of those. That wasn't the issue for the rough running. It was a bad vacuum pump that was replaced. Turned out the original ECM was going bad anyway and needed replaced.)
6) Replaced the rims and tires for better ride comfort. It has smaller rims & larger tires than stock on it now. I have the original Chrome rims and tires in my garage that came with it. Tires have less than 12,000 miles on them. Like new. Original tires have been stored inside and have good rubber on them. Still mounted on the rims. Bridgestone Potenza all season radials on it now. The Rims were replaced under warranty about the same time the transmission was.
7) Car has always been kept in heated garage since I got it in ‘99.
8) Front bra
9) Car cover
10) New shifter boot
11) New VR4 floor mats.
12) Almost perfect interior (except for the side of the driver’s seat.)
13) Recent All Wheel Alignment at Samaritan Tire in Minnetonka
14) Shocks replaced maybe 30,000 miles ago
15) Aftermarket alarm system

16) Rear seats have been folded down almost as long as I have had it. Used maybe 2-3 times.
17) Low resistance aftermarket air filter
18) Added one of those cool VR4 aluminum plates for between the heads on the engine that I got at a 3Si event. (can only add 3 pics on this post)
19) New door speakers
What can I say? This is a VR4. A wonderful and rare car. Fast, handles like it is on rails. This is my all-time favorite car and I have had some real cool cars over the years. But I have my eye on a new, very cool car. A flat plane crank, 530 HP, GT350 Mustang.18) Added one of those cool VR4 aluminum plates for between the heads on the engine that I got at a 3Si event.
